Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and VCH Solutions, LLC (“DateChi,” “we”) for using DateChi. By creating an account you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.

1. Who can join

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • You may not use DateChi if you are a registered sex offender, have been convicted of a violent or sexual crime, or have been removed from DateChi before.
  • One account per person. The information in your profile must be true and about you.

2. Background checks

DateChi does not conduct criminal background checks or identity verification of members. You are responsible for your own safety when communicating with or meeting other members. Please read our safety tips.

3. How DateChi works

Members who like each other match. Either person can propose a restaurant, bar, or café and a time. Once the other person accepts, chat opens so you can sort out the details. Reservations are made directly with the venue — DateChi is not affiliated with listed venues, does not hold tables, and is not responsible for venues, bookings, or what happens on a date. Venue information comes from third-party sources and may be inaccurate; check with the venue.

4. Membership, approval and payments

  • We review new profiles and may approve or decline any application at our discretion. Membership can also require verifying your identity.
  • The first members approved in each city are founding members: their first year is free. Founding membership does not renew automatically; when it ends, you can choose to start a paid membership.
  • After a city’s founding spots are filled, membership costs $19.99 per year (plus any applicable tax) and renews automatically each year until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from Profile → Account; you keep access until the end of the year you paid for.
  • We’ll notify you before any price change takes effect, and you can cancel before it applies.

Live (optional add-on):

  • Live is only for members 21 and older (based on the birthday you gave us). Venues set their own entry rules and check ID; DateChi doesn’t control who a venue lets in.
  • Live lets you check in at bars and restaurants and match with members checked in at the same place. It’s an optional paid add-on, offered when available, priced as shown in the app before you subscribe (plus any applicable tax), and it renews automatically each month until you cancel.
  • Live uses your phone’s location when you check in, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can cancel anytime; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep Live until then.
  • Payments are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.
  • We’ll notify you before any price change takes effect, and you can cancel before it applies.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe on the website, or by Apple when you subscribe in the iPhone app. App Store subscriptions are managed and cancelled in your Apple account settings, and Apple’s terms and refund policies apply to them. Deleting your DateChi account cancels a website subscription; an App Store subscription must be cancelled with Apple.

5. Your conduct

You agree not to:

  • harass, threaten, stalk, or intimidate anyone, or share anything hateful, sexually explicit, or violent;
  • impersonate anyone, use someone else’s photos, or misrepresent your age, identity, or relationship status;
  • ask for or send money, promote businesses, or solicit anyone;
  • share another member’s personal information or messages without their permission;
  • scrape, automate, or interfere with the service, or access accounts that aren’t yours.

We may remove content, suspend, or close accounts that break these rules or put others at risk, with or without notice.

6. Your content

You own the photos and text you post. You give DateChi a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and process them only to operate the service. This ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we must keep information to comply with law or protect safety.

7. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Account.

8. Disclaimers

DateChi is provided “as is.” We don’t guarantee you’ll match, that members are who they claim to be, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, DateChi is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for the conduct of any member on or off the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to $100. Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

10. Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

11. Changes

If we change these terms in a material way, we’ll notify you before the changes take effect. Continuing to use DateChi means you accept them.
